SF resident golf card: is it worth getting?

The San Francisco Resident Golf Card costs $139 and lasts two years. It gives eligible golfers access to resident rates at six municipal courses. Start with the application requirements, then compare the savings at the courses you actually play. A card does not include green fees or reserve a tee time.

Who qualifies, and what do you need?

SF residents qualify. SF property owners living elsewhere can also qualify with ownership evidence in their name. Bring a government-issued photo ID and recent address evidence.

  • If your photo ID shows your current address, the city counts it toward the residency evidence; bring a matching supporting document dated within 90 days.
  • If your ID has a different address or none, provide two address documents from different vendors, dated within 90 days. Both must show your name and the same qualifying address.

Utility bills, bank statements and property-tax statements are examples. Check the city’s full documentation rules before applying.

Apply or renew through the official online form. It asks for document uploads and payment. The city warns processing can take several weeks, so leave time before a planned round. For card or renewal-login questions, contact residentgolfcard@sfgov.org.

In-person applications are available at the Harding Park golf shop Monday–Wednesday. Confirm hours with the shop before travelling; its published pages give different times. McLaren Lodge offers appointments for those unable to use the other options. See the city’s application locations.

Which courses accept the card?

The city’s application lists these six courses for SF cardholders. Each course sets its own booking and check-in requirements.

Pacifica has a separate $307 resident card, also valid for two years. Its benefits apply only at Sharp Park. It does not give Pacifica residents SF-card benefits at the other five courses. See the official card categories.

How many rounds cover the $139 card?

Here are standard adult green fees published by the city, checked November 6, 2026. Weekdays mean Monday–Thursday; weekend pricing applies Friday–Sunday. These are rate comparisons, not live tee-time quotes.

A Lincoln Park example

At $14 saved each weekday round, 10 rounds save $140. At $15 saved each weekend round, 10 save $150. Either exceeds the $139 card cost over its two-year term, assuming those prices and your eligibility stay the same.

Use your own mix of rounds

Multiply each expected round by the difference between the rate you would otherwise pay and your cardholder rate. Add those savings and compare with $139. Use senior, junior or twilight prices if those are your real alternatives. Savings depend on actually playing; the card does not guarantee openings.

Harding Park, Bay Area rates and Presidio are different.

Harding Park & Fleming

Harding’s resident program distinguishes SF cardholders from Bay Area residents. A Bay Area address alone does not make you an SF cardholder. Bring the card for the cardholder rate. Harding and Fleming use flexible green fees, so compare the actual course, date and rate category rather than a single advertised price.

Harding’s resident program →

Presidio

Presidio publishes its own SF City rates and proof-of-residency list. That list includes a California driver’s license with an SF address, or specified address documents with matching photo ID. The municipal card is not on that published list. Confirm accepted proof with Presidio instead of buying a card solely for a Presidio discount.

Have the card, but can’t find a tee time?

Check the Lincoln Park or Harding Park booking guide for the right booking window and portal. A resident-rate credential and an available tee time are separate things. Choose a date, player count and time window your group can use.

Jolf can watch supported courses for matching openings. Turn on email alerts when saving your watch, then review the provider’s current rate and eligibility before reserving. An alert does not hold the time, verify your resident card or guarantee resident pricing. The alerts walkthrough shows the setup.

One active watch at one course is free. No card required.
